The meta-owned WhatsApp is gambling into the film-making business premiere of its first original short movie titled Naija Odyssey only on Amazon Prime Video and YouTube. This short movie is just 12 minutes long and tells the story of NBA Player Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was born in Greece.
Naija Odyssey is the cross-cultural story of Giannis by WhatsApp. This short movie is scheduled to be streamed on the 21st of September.
However, this 12-minute short movie indicates WhatsApp’s foray into entertainment, a first for any social media platform. According to the reports said, Naija Odyssey seems to be promoting WhatsApp as Antetokounmpo recently signed the deal with the company.
Moreover, Naija Odyssey is a story that tells us how many ways WhatsApp helps us to acquiesce in our miscellaneous lives. The company spokesperson said, that, in relationships, identity, and even adversity, WhatsApp is there to hold all sides of you by connecting you to those who matter most.
The 12-minute short movie will also be planned to be launched on WhatsApp’s social media accounts, including its YouTube channel. Antetokounmpo was named the NBA All-Star Game MVP for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021. The story is narrated by Antetokounmpo and his mother, and this movie is inspired by the classic Greek epic poem, The Odyssey, which illustrates the different moments in his life.
